The Joy Over Fear Podcast

Tell me about a time you made the decision to choose Joy over Fear...what was it like? Making this choice moment after moment takes strength, courage, and is worth talking about. My goal is to discuss topics about life, love, growth, career, grief, motivation, loss, mindfulness, parenting, dog parenting, and so much more with guests that we can all relate to. THANK YOU in advance for listening, and helping us grow. We have so many things to share, and cannot wait to meet you!

Happy Thanksgiving, friends!! We are so grateful for all of you and appreciate you sticking by us after a break from publishing and posting. It's been a minute, but we're happy to be back and having these conversations with you. Today we talk about living AF (aka Alcohol-Free) and some of the ways are lives are different these days. Pat gets super vulnerable as we walk through our first drinking experiences, the college days and getting "the spins", to day-long hangovers as functioning adults, and the decision to stop the cycle. Neither of us anticipated we would ever make this decision, but we also didn't anticipate that life would be this good. THANK YOU again for listening, and for contributing either in the comments or in DM's; we LOVE hearing from you! All our love!

In this episode, we discuss a topic that is commonly misunderstood, but one that every single one of us will (unfortunately) experience at least once in our lives; Grief. The more we love people, pets, relationships, jobs, etc., the more the idea and experience of losing them can be devastating, and today I want you to know that you're not alone, there are ways to manage it, and you can....dare I say heal in the process; we will dive into these emotions together. Grief can be so difficult to talk about, to define, and to express, so I've decided to break this topic into 3 parts, and this is the 1st of 3. We will define what grief is, how it differs from bereavement, how we've been taught to manage it, and how to lift ourselves up and choose Joy Over Fear even when people tell us to "move on, get over it, etc.". Stay tuned for 2 more episodes to continue the conversation! All our love, and THANK YOU for listening! We appreciate you.

Today we talk about limiting beliefs, which are stories we tell ourselves about why we "can't" do something we really want to do. Maybe it's our dream, and we tell ourselves it's not possible for various reasons. Those "reasons" are your limiting beliefs about yourself, and the world, and you CAN reprogram them. Wayne Dyer has a quote that says "Don't die with your music still in you", which is the epitome of this conversation today, because if we don't spend our lives doing what we love, or at least trying to do what makes our heart beat a little faster, then we're not really living. I'm joined again by Patrick, who is a fan favorite! We received glowing reviews and feedback from Episode 3 featuring Pat, so of course, we give the people what they want, and he's back! Come with us as we talk about what limiting beliefs are, how they can show up in our lives, the negative impact they can have on us, and how we can learn different ways to banish it and the bully it came from! Thank you as always, for joining us, and listening. It means a lot to us, and we hope this helps you!! Gratitude, always.

Today I interview Patrick O', who is very special, incredibly smart (and IMO, very handsome), and my husband! Patrick has been through his share of Joy over Fear moments, one of which being deciding to move home to find meaning after being discharged from the Military. He'll walk us through how he went from a place of despair, loneliness and depression which he soothed with booze and distraction, to the peaceful place of growth he's in today. Heads up, there is talk of God, the Universe, Jesus, etc. in this episode, and we want you to know we will never push any beliefs onto anyone, please take all of this as it serves and suits you best. Whatever works for you (God, Universe, Spirit, nothing, the Motherload, the Big Guy, etc.) works for us. STAY TTUNED and Subscribe for more episodes with Pat, and more amazing folks like him. We love you and are SO grateful for you!
